Where Textbook Theory Meets
the Living Reality of Human Healing.
A premier counselling psychology internship program for students across India. We bridge the gap between academic learning and the depth of real-world therapeutic practice.
A Program Born
from Purpose,
Not Prescription.
The Asha Bhupender Charitable Trust was founded on the conviction that accessible, compassionate mental health care is not a privilege. It is a right. For years, we have witnessed the quiet cost of a widening gap: trained counselling psychologists who feel underprepared for the emotional complexity of real human lives, and communities across India that deserve so much more from the professionals who serve them.
A counsellor is not shaped in a classroom alone. They are shaped in the moment of genuine encounter with another human being's pain.
This internship program is our institutional answer to that gap. As an official mental health NGO dedicated to psychological well-being throughout India, the Trust hosts this structured training to cultivate the next generation of skilled, ethically grounded counselling psychologists. These are practitioners who will carry their learning forward into communities, hospitals, schools, and private practice across the country.
We do not simply issue certificates. We invest in the formation of complete professionals who have held space, navigated uncertainty, and emerged with both the practical competence and the human wisdom to make a lasting difference.

Smt. Leena Kumari (Leena Mehta)
Chairperson, Managing Trustee & Supervising Counselling PsychologistAll interns trained under this program work in direct, close supervision with Smt. Leena Kumari, Chairperson and Managing Trustee of the Asha Bhupender Charitable Trust and the founding mind behind Vaishalya Healing. She is a highly experienced Counselling Psychologist with deep roots in both the theory and lived practice of therapeutic care. Her mentorship philosophy is clear: a truly effective counsellor must first cultivate profound self-awareness, ethical clarity, and the capacity for genuine empathic attunement.
Working under her direct supervision means every intern receives personalised feedback on their therapeutic style, case conceptualisation, ethical decision-making, and professional identity. This is the kind of foundation that textbooks alone cannot provide, and it is what makes this one of the most respected practical counselling psychology internship programs available in India today.

Credentials That Carry
Institutional Weight.
Upon successful completion of the program, each candidate receives an official, verified certificate of completion issued directly on the letterhead of the Asha Bhupender Charitable Trust. This is a registered NGO with a verifiable institutional identity in the field of mental health and social welfare.
This is not a participation token. The certification formally documents the intern's validated practical hours, the nature and scope of their therapeutic exposure, and the ethical framework in which they were trained. It also includes a personal letter of recommendation signed by the supervising Counselling Psychologist, a document that carries real weight when presented to future employers, postgraduate institutions, or professional bodies.
Every certificate is a statement of accountability: ours to the intern, and theirs to the profession. We issue it with the full institutional authority of the Trust, and we stand behind every name that appears on it.
Your Practice Begins
When You Choose to Begin.
